چکیده

The performance of twenty four 6-8 week old apparently healthy male and female weanling rabbits mixed breed fed diets treated with aflatoxin, which contained 5% sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) fruit peel meal was evaluated in an 8 feeding trial. Sweet peels were collected from sellers, sun-dried milled. Fungal strain Aspergillus flavus cultured inoculated into groundnut cake to produce aflatoxin using solid state fermentation method. Treated incubated for seven days incremental incubation temperature 20-25 ºC autoclaved, milled and, extracted 10 g sample the 50 ml chloroform, its concentration quantified by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC). included at 0, 50, 100 150 gram grower rabbit T1, T2, T3 T4, having 0 ppb, ppb respectively. randomly allocated rate six per diet, housed singly hutches, served water free choice. result showed significant (P<0.05) negative effect  on final live weight, weight gain, feed intake, conversion ratio, consumption, protein intake efficiency ratio as dietary increased ppb. Also, had effect dressed carcass length kidney. Total residue varied significantly μg/kg - 2.76μg/kg,  1.94μg/kg 0.85μg/kg liver, kidney meat tissue, respectively Performance response affected negatively thereby showing inability inclusion mitigate adverse consequences rabbit. Key words: Growth responses, residual level, visceral organs, mitigate.

Effect of different levels of dried sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) peel on broiler chickens growth performance

The trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of different levels of dried sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) peel on growth performance in broilers. A total of 400 male broiler chicks (Ross-308) were randomly allocated to treatments varying in supplemental DSOP. The dietary groups consisted of five diets fed for 42 days: control diet without feed additive, diet containing 1.5 % feed additive only...

Effect of Sweet Orange Fruit Waste Diets and Acidifier on Haematology and Serum Chemistry of Weanling Rabbits

A total of thirty-five mixed breed (35) rabbits of average weight of 700 g aged 5-6 weeks were allocated to seven treatments in a completely randomised design to investigate the effect of sweet orange fruit waste (SOFW) and acidomix acidifier on haematology and serum chemistry. The diets were 0% SOFW, 10% SOFW with 0.5% acidomix, 10% SOFW with 0.7 acidomix, 15% SOFW with 0.5% acidifier, 15% SOF...

Transcriptome analysis of a spontaneous mutant in sweet orange [Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck] during fruit development

Bud mutations often arise in citrus. The selection of mutants is one of the most important breeding channels in citrus. However, the molecular basis of bud mutation has rarely been studied. To identify differentially expressed genes in a spontaneous sweet orange [C. sinensis (L.) Osbeck] bud mutation which causes lycopene accumulation, low citric acid, and high sucrose in fruit, suppression sub...

Characterization of aroma active compounds in fruit juice and peel oil of Jinchen sweet orange fruit (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck) by GC-MS and GC-O.

Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and gas chromatography-olfactometry (GC-O) were used to determine the aromatic composition and aroma active compounds of fruit juice and peel oil of Jinchen sweet orange fruit. Totals of 49 and 32 compounds were identified in fruit juice and peel oil, respectively. GC-O was performed to study the aromatic profile of Jinchen fruit juice and peel oil. ...

Production of a Safe and Efficient Antioxidant-Rich Extract from Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensiscv Shahsavari) Peel

The aim of this study is to develop an extraction method for the producing of a safe and efficient source of antioxidant compounds from fresh and pre-treated sweet orange (Citrus sinensis cv shahsavari) peel. Three types of solvents (100% ethanol, 100% water and ethanol-water mixtures at the ratios of 35:65 and 65:35, v/v), three duration times (60, 120 and 240 min) were chosen as the parameter...
